Chapter Select Live One Act Plays
Sponsored by: Stagefab

2021 Virtual Chapter Select One Act Plays Sponsored by Stagefab - PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
The first 20 plays to register in the BC Festival will get the chance to perform an one act play at the festival this year. Each school can enter a maximum of 3 plays. Each play has a maximum of 45 minutes to perform, 5 minutes to set up a mood and 5 minutes to do a virtual strike (whatever that means). Groups participating may also be given the chance to represent B.C at the International Thespian Festival.

There will be two genres of One Act Play for our live zoom performances...
Centralized Streaming Play Performance - where all of the actors are together onstage at their own school performing a play that is performed live and live streamed to our festival audience over a computer with a basic camera and audio feed facing the entirety of the stage and zooming it back to us.
Decentralized Zoom Play Performance - where all of the actors are in different home locations and they are doing a live performance of an ensemble zoom playscript created for teleconference theatre performance.

Centralized pre-recorded one acts can be submitted for adjudication too. These may or may not be shown at the festival depending on time. Live performances will take priority.

Click on the buttons below to download the Chapter Select rubric and rules. We will be creating more guidelines for both of these brand new genres of one act play and have them published on this page shortly!
