Message to adjudicators… Thank you for participating in this unified audition event! We will be closing the ability for you to make notes on auditions at 11:59PM on Monday, December 13th. You will, however, still be able to view the applications after that time. You also have the ability to generate an excel file of all applicant data and your notes to help you prepare your callback email list and invites. WHAT'S INCLUDED IN A STUDENT APPLICATION:
All pertinent demographic/contact info
Resume and headshot
Program interests, skills, intended areas of study etc...
Transcript, GPA, and class rank (if applicable) uploaded by school counselors
Tech/Production Portfolio PDF (if applicable). The portfolio guide shared with students can be found here: https://www.educationaltheatre.ca/national-unified-post-secondary-auditions.html
Video of either a Performance Audition (2 minutes, 1-2 pieces, MT and/or Acting) or a Tech/Production Portfolio Presentation (4 minutes, student sharing their portfolio highlights on video).
CALLBACK INVITE DAY: To help students manage their anxiety around callback invitations, we ask that all schools send callback/next steps offers on Tuesday, December 14th: "Callback Invite Day," not before. If, instead of a formal callback process, you plan on hosting info sessions or reaching out to every kid to encourage them to apply for admission, please wait until October 23rd. This keeps all of the stress of waiting to a single day. Please do not contact any students prior to December 14th...they talk to each other and will spread confusion/anxiety. CALLBACKS/NEXT STEPS: There is no centralized or formal callback process associated with our event this year. Each program may handle your callback process however you like and on your own platform/timeline. Be sure to give students instructions for what to do or expect next if you reach out to them. PARTICIPATING SCHOOL LIST AND CONTACT EMAILS: After their registration deadline on December 1st 2021 and prior to Callback Invite Day on December 14th 2021, we will provide all participating students with a document listing which schools are participating as well as an email contact. If you do not call a student back, you may still receive a thank you email or request for info from students eager to learn more about your school or program. ETIQUETTE NOTE SHARED WITH THE STUDENTS: The following note is emphasized in the student info on our website as well as in their online application: If a school reaches out to you to offer a callback or next step, take a thoughtful look at their program and respond. Do not ghost a school. If you are not interested in their program, give them a polite response such as “Thank you so much for this callback opportunity, unfortunately I do not think your program will be a good fit for me at this time.” This is a respectful way to keep the auditors from wasting their time trying to connect with you and to keep your inbox limited to schools you are seriously considering.
